Beeing a derethian archer
Weapons
In Asheron's Call if you want to become an archer you can choose between 3 types of weapons:
bow,
crossbow and
thrown weapons.
The main differences between bow and crossbow are speed, damage and weight. Crossbows usually weigh twice as much as bow and are much slower (firing speed as well as animation, when going to/dropping from cobat mode), but there maximum damage is higher as well, so the
damage over time is only slightly lower than for bow.
With the 4 skill credits you save, when you specialize crossbow instead of bow more versatile as well as more extrem templates are possible.
Arrows
Arrows don't grow on trees - well, at least not directly.
To make your own arrows you need two skills:
fletching and
alchemy. The former one is needed to apply the arrowheads on the shafts, the latter one to enhance the arrowheads before applying them.
